How's this for another example of "They just don't get it"?
On the evening of 14 September 2001--that's three days after the terrorist attacks--Madonna had a concert at LA's Staples Center. At some point during the proceedings, she said that we must all pray that President Bush...doesn't retaliate. Yes, you read that right.
Fortunately, this bit of flower child destructive poison was immediately drowned out by loud cries of USA! USA!
Now exposed as the idiot most of us already knew that she was, the Material Girl was forced to declare that she would donate the "proceeds" of her concert to the relief efforts. As one who has been around entertainment accounting, I would advise you to hold the applause until you see the figures. Still, she'll have to give up something, and that works for me.
Pride truly is an amazing vice. You'd think that this pumped-up white trash reject with very limited talents would be thanking her lucky stars on a daily basis for her pop success, and be content to keep her mouth shut. Instead, she presumes to think that her audience actually cares what's in her pea brain. That's entertainment!
